About
Madison Schumacher
Hello! My name is Madi Schumacher and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in California and Colorado. I specialize in working with children, teens, and college students/young adults who are navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, autism, self esteem concerns, executive functioning challenges, social challenges, academic/school stressors, family stressors, and life transitions.
My experience as an early childhood therapist, PK-12 school social worker, and undergraduate student success coach has given me the opportunity to support individuals across a variety of life stages. I understand how social, emotional, economic, cultural and family dynamics are interconnected, and I enjoy partnering with clients and caregivers to create meaningful, lasting change. I believe every person has unique strengths, and that therapy should build on these strengths while providing practical skills for everyday life.
My therapeutic approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Together, we'll work to identify unhelpful thought patterns, build healthy coping strategies, strengthen executive functioning and emotional regulation skills, improve confidence, and develop practical tools to navigate life's challenges. Depending on your needs, I also integrate Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Motivational Interviewing, exposure-based interventions, executive functioning coaching, parent coaching and play therapy to create a personalized treatment plan that supports your goals. Above all, I strive to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where my clients can feel comfortable being themselves.
When I'm not working, I love getting lost in a good book, watching reality TV, spending time at Disneyland, dancing, and playing with my dog, Milo.
