Why we're here

Today, 1 in 5 children in the US have a diagnosable mental health disorder.

But all too often, children, teens, and young adults are going without the help they need — and their parents are going without support.

High-quality mental health care is inaccessible to most families. Insurance coverage is limited, waitlists are months long, and therapists with the right training are difficult to find. And for young people with higher-acuity needs — those experiencing more severe symptoms or complex challenges — the options are even fewer, as many providers are not equipped to deliver the specialized care required.

The system is broken, and families are struggling in silence. That's why we created Handspring.

We believe that every young person should have access to gold-standard behavioral health care, and that every parent should have somewhere to turn. We aim to create a world where children, teens, young adults, and parents are empowered to lead resilient, fulfilling lives.

If you or a loved one needs help, please reach out.

From our co-founder

I saw too many families feel lost when their children needed help the most, unsure where to turn or whether the care they found would truly work. It's too hard to know where to find help or who to trust. Handspring was built to change that — providing consistently high-quality care, rooted in evidence, that families can count on to make a real difference.

Our values

Do the right thing

We do what’s right for the children and families we serve, even when it’s hard. When identifying the ethical path is challenging, we use our team to think through difficult choices.

Be flexible within fidelity

While we anchor our work in evidence-based practices, we adapt creatively and thoughtfully to meet each patient where they are — without losing sight of what drives real change.

Never stop growing

Whether it’s new science, new technology, or new ways to connect with those we serve, we’re committed to learning and evolving alongside the needs of our patients.

Commit to diversity

Our patients come from diverse backgrounds, and so should we. A diverse team is essential to delivering thoughtful, high-quality care that meets each family's unique needs.

Work as a team

Clinical work can’t be done well in isolation. We collaborate as a team in both formal and informal ways, sharing our perspectives and lifting each other up.
