About

Teresa Johnson

Teresa completed her master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling at Walden University in 2014. Since graduating, she has streamlined her career in several areas, including inpatient, residential treatment, intensive outpatient, private practice, nonprofit organizations, and behavioral health advocacy. Teresa has created classes for parenting psychoeducation as well as adolescent groups for those with less than intact self-worth and guidance with social-emotional development. She has a broad range of clinical experience working with individuals and groups during her professional career in a variety of areas.

Teresa’s approach emphasizes the mutual development of goals for therapy and the provision of ongoing evaluation of the therapeutic approach. Teresa enjoys working with a variety of different populations, the most being tweens, teens, and veterans, with whom she facilitates individual, family, and group therapy. Teresa is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Reality Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, SAFE EMDR, Narrative Therapy, and Crisis Intervention. She continues to seek ongoing updates to her skills and knowledge base. Teresa believes in an approach emphasizing a more integrative, dynamic, and holistic approach to mental health and daily goals. She is particularly concerned with the impact of loss and trauma and improving interventions to support trauma recovery for better emotional, physical, and relationship health.
