About
Ketchaina Milcent
Hello, I’m Ketchaina! I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in New York, passionate about supporting children, teens, and adults through anxiety, ADHD, trauma, emotional regulation, and life transitions. My work is grounded in a trauma-informed, evidence-based approach shaped by my degrees in Forensic Psychology and Forensic Mental Health Counseling, along with advanced training in Victimology Studies from John Jay College of Criminal Justice.
At Handspring, I provide individual, family, and group therapy using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and with adolescents I often integrate ACT and mindfulness to build emotional awareness, resilience, and healthy coping skills. I also have experience supporting individuals navigating substance use concerns and am committed to offering an affirming, inclusive space for LGBTQ+ clients.
My style is warm, collaborative, and person-centered. Above all, I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel understood, supported, and empowered to grow at their own pace.
