Reason 2:

We only use evidence-based care that delivers real progress

Centered on skills-based CBT, our evidence-based approach helps young people better understand their thoughts, manage their emotions, and build lasting coping strategies that support emotional and behavioral well-being. The key elements of our approach include:
Age-appropriate skill-building
Collaborative and active participation
Strengths-based perspective
Parental involvement
Progress tracking and feedback

Gold-standard behavior therapy

We lead with evidence-based care. Our therapists primarily use CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy), the gold-standard, first-line treatment for anxiety, depression, and other common mental health challenges. CBT helps kids, teens, and young adults develop practical skills they can use every day for lasting emotional resilience.

Close collaboration with parents

Parents are essential partners in the therapy process, which is why our care model includes ongoing training and support just for you. We offer scheduled parent training sessions using BPT (behavioral parent training), a research-backed approach that helps parents manage emotional and behavioral challenges at home with confidence and consistency.

We also encourage regular check-ins with your child’s therapist between sessions, so you can stay in the loop and feel supported every step of the way.

Accurate diagnosis

At Handspring, we believe that accurate diagnosis is the cornerstone of meaningful mental health care. Therefore, every child’s care begins with a thorough and thoughtful diagnostic assessment that lets us understand the challenges they’re facing and identify the best path forward. Our clinicians take the time to listen carefully, gather detailed histories, and use evidence-based tools to gain a full picture of each child’s emotional, behavioral, and developmental needs.

This comprehensive approach ensures that we don’t just treat symptoms, but also address root causes. By starting with a precise understanding of a child’s experiences and strengths, we can craft personalized treatment plans that are both targeted and effective. The result is care that feels relevant, responsive, and empowering for children and families alike.

Reason 3:

Parents see real change in their child
